I Love To See...

....THE TEMPLE.
I went there yesterday. I have set a goal to go every Tuesday, whether my ward is going or not. I rarely have a day when I don't want to go unless I am so tired that I know I will fall asleep. Yesterday was such a day, but I still needed it. Sometimes life can be so heavy on the heart as it fills with unanswered questions, worries, burdens of others (which I do cherish anyway), tasks left uncompleted, wondering if my daily offering to the Lord is enough, and so on. My life circumstances didn't change when I entered those doors, but I exited the doors changed. When I walked out of the temple yesterday a sweet lady was outside giving a tour to some youth and she said to me "wow, you look SO happy to have been in the temple!" She's right. I was. I guess I didn't notice myself throwing the doors open, ready to conquer the world! Sometimes a simple sincere prayer in a quite place can make all the difference.
"The celestial room in the temple is especially a place of peace, tranquility, and beauty. It is a quiet haven where one can reflect, ponder, pray, meditate, and feel the love of Heavenly Father and the Savior. As we ponder and meditate in the temple, our thoughts naturally focus on members of our family." (Richard H. Winkel, "The Temple Is About Families," Ensign, Nov. 2006, 10-11)
