Conference Weekend

President Hinckley said of his wife, Marjorie: “For 66 years we have walked together, hand in hand, with love and encouragement, with appreciation and respect. It cannot be very long before one of us will step through the veil. I hope the other will follow soon. I just would not know how to get along without her, even on the other side, and I would hope that she would not know how to get along without me.”
This will be the first conference that I can even remember without President Hinckley at the forefront of the events and for this I am silently sad. I will always miss him in my heart, but I just have to remember that everything he has taught me is still alive and well inside my soul. I can't wait to teach my future children all about him. He has made a major impact on my testimony and thus my life course. He will never be forgotten. I think I may even tear up when I don't see him behind the pulpit crafted from the tree in his back yard. I know, I know, sometimes I have a hard time letting go... but I can't help having such a tender heart. I'm on my way to Utah this weekend and I am excited to gain a deeper sense of leadership from watching our new President, President Monson in action. He is an equally great and talented man and I am sure my feelings over time will grow just as deep for him.
