Friend Spotlight

This is my friend Robb. He's pretty much one of the best people I've ever known, as he is always busy doing good and thinking of others. He's married now and interning in China with his wife Annie (as he just graduated with his MBA). Seeing this picture he sent me with his hands dirty from changing some foreign man's tire (that he couldn't even communicate with) reminded me of two great pieces of advice he always used to tell me:
1) "There are two types of people in this world -those you love and those you don't know yet"; and
2) "Be so absorbed with uplifting, enriching pursuits and pastimes that you leave no room for the negative or the evil that might move in to fill some bored or thoughtless void". (President Spencer W. Kimball, "Privileges and Responsibilities of Sisters", 1979. To read the entire article, CLICK HERE. I highly recommend reading it as it is a wonderful talk I've been trying to track down forever and just found!)
Robb is someone that can quote an entire book to you, line for line, while making you feel the message intended for you. Robb is someone that has a heart bigger than his head; Robb is someone who embodies Christlike attributes and knows it's cool to be good. Robb is someone who walked away from worldly fame to serve his fellow beings and the Lord. Robb is someone with an infectious laugh who can make even the grumpiest person smile in two seconds when he pulls out his grandpa voice. Robb is someone I feel so lucky to call a dear friend. We spent two summers together serving at EFY and the time in-between summers stirring up fun on his scooter. I miss him.
