Turkey Week

This picture will just have to do until I get around to uploading my pictures. I had a nice 9 day off break which took me to the land northward. I had a great time freezing my you-know-what off up in Provo. I had so much fun with my family and it was so great to be reminded that I am so crazy lucky to be stuck with such great people forever. Here's some of the highlights/realizations from Turkey Week:

  1. We ran the Second Annual Turkey Run! Only two people participated (shout out to Starsky) but we're just sure it's going to catch on like wildfire next year! We were much more in shape this time than last time which made a great excuse for eating more food. (Actually, Starsky... you really let me down on the eating end of things... you gotta stretch that stomach out!) We're thinking we may need to make shirts and time ourselves next year in order to round out our nerdiness;
  2. Sleeping... is WAY under-rated;
  3. Running in the cold makes the lungs burn but oh how I've missed my long runs down short country roads. Sigh...
  4. Of course we all ate too much and my clothes feel tighter, which means I have to work that much harder to quickly shrink the waistline;
  5. No matter how many times She's the Man is viewed, it still brings laughter to the air when myself, Starsky and Hutch watch the dang movie. That movie's got a lifetime of knowledge in it, Gman!
  6. Two of my favorite places to eat are Brick Oven and The Spaghetti Factory. Maybe I need to rename the week of "White FLOUR heaven Week".
  7. People say you need to carry a camera at all times when in Vegas. I agree. I did not realize however, that this same rule applies to Provo, especially when you make trips to Macey's Grocery Store and Ripple's Drive Thru. Old grandma biker chicks? General Authority Sightings? 'Nuff said.
  8. Bought my first BYU t-shirt. I wore it on my way home Saturday as the BYU/UofU game was TIVO-ing. NO ONE told me... that if you wear the shirt, people (total strangers) will want to tell you the ending of the game. Totally ruined it for the whole family. My bad. But man, was that a good game!
  9. Visited the BYU Creamery and got a grilled ham/cheese sandwich and loved every last bite.
  10. Journeyed to the BYU Law School where I attended a lecture. I can see myself there.
  11. Set up my room in the parental house and really love how it turned out.
  12. Stopped at the Red Barn on the way home (in Nephi) and bought bags of huge beautiful apples for practically nothing. You better believe there will be fresh apple crisp at my house all week :o)
  13. Laughed my guts off in the car on the way home with the little munchkins in tote. I forget sometimes how funny my 12-year-old nephew is when spurred on by his older sister. I literally had tears streaming down my face as he said in the funniest of voices "Hey there doll face...how you doin'. I'm lookin' for a little senorita and someone told me you have a lot of Spanish flav. It's your lucky day because I'm in the market." I apologize to all who received this message on their voice mail's Saturday. We just had to share the love because it was too great to keep to ourselves!
  14. Ate, for the first time, at the Pizza Factory. (St. George). Once again... The White Flour Heaven Week rears it's ugly head.
  15. Looked at Christmas lights because heaven knows that Provo has them up right after Halloween, bless their hearts. Someone started calling Provo heaven on the way home and I think they might be right. I'm so lucky to call that place home...forever.
