Thought For The Day

"God's sweetest BLESSINGS always go to willing hands that SERVE Him below."
(Elder Monson - October, 2006 Conference)

Sunday, as I sat in Relief Society next to my counselors Sara and Lisa, I couldn't help but think of how blessed I was to sit among and serve with such amazing women. I have been SO blessed over the past few years to choose the greatest around me to sit right next to me. These friendships have truly changed and edified my life, and helped my feet stay on the right path. We had a great Presidency meeting on Sunday and I walked away feeling so lucky to share this load with such capable, willing, and strong women who will do whatever asked, no matter how crazy it may be. I want to be more like each of you. I want to be more funny... like Lisa; I want to be more loyal...like Sara; I want to be more confident... like Britney; and I want to be more "life of the party"... like Brakell (only to name a million of the things I love about them). I cherish this time with you sisters. I hope you know that. May your willing hands be greatly blessed as you serve.

My mind also wandered to my Jody friend who serves everyone she loves pretty much every day of her life. She will very often go from baby-sitting her sister's kids to see her grandma at the hospital, then to her friend's house that is left alone a lot without her husband. It blows me away that someone can be so selfless with their time.

And then there's my mom. Talk about serving hands... she is the definition of them. I can only hope to someday be 1/4 of the woman that she is. Mom's are just so amazing in general! The thought of me being one scares me :o) Blessings, Jen... blessings :o)
