Last night I hosted a dinner party honoring the old and new RS Presidency members. I got to use my new star dishes that I have slowly collected over the years. It was the first use and I have to say I was quite proud of them! I meant to take a pic... but I was a little busy figuring out how to play hostess. I think we all had a great time though. I had everyone bring an item "One of My Favorite Things Under $5.00" and we played a white-elephant type game and swapped them. I ended up with a CD from a group called MAE. It's really good! The outgoing counselors shared some things they have learned this past year with the incoming counselors. It turned out to be a perfect night. I even ended up with enough energy to go running after it was all over. I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes from working really hard.
The menu consisted of Berry Salad (recipe from Nordstrom Cafe), lemon poppy seed muffins, funeral potatoes, veggies, and cupcakes (provided by Lori - thanks Lori!). I must say the food was yummy! What a fun night. I am all about the hosting, especially when it involves making good food!
