Defining Moments

Last weekend the Madsen's visited Las Vegas and my whole family was able to come hear them speak. Ann (I just fell in love with her!) spoke about visiting teaching and Truman spoke about the blessings of the temple. I think I took 5 pages of notes. After they spoke I stuck around to help serve lunch to them and the Stake Presidency. They spent a good portion of the luncheon speaking about Jerusalem. They have been there 45 times! My eyes filled got a little misty as my heart revisited memories of my time going to school in that blessed country. After the luncheon I was able to spend a little time talking to both Ann and Truman one-on-one, as did my mom's counselors. After they left we all stood in that room, looked around at each other, and my mom's counselor, Shelley, continued to repeat the words "defining moments". I have thought a lot about that since last weekend. Do we seek defining moments in our lives like we could? Do we make each day count with regards to filling our buckets? Ann told me that we should "get on our knees and pray each morning until we feel encircled by His love. This world is so cruel... we can't afford to enter it without feeling that way before we step out the door." I am so happy that I was able to share this experience with my sweet parents and siblings. Defining moments.
