Baby Shower
Wow the shower for Jill was amazing on Saturday. Her friend threw her the fattiest shower (see slideshow below). I think around 70 people came. I bet it's partially because we've all waited so long for this announcement to happen (7 years). It's about time! They have two names that they somewhat like (Ezra and Truman) for the baby, but nothing has really sunk in yet. She is due the first week of April and she looks great! It was a lot of fun to see her sisters from Wyoming and Utah and to spend a little time with my own sister. The food was great and the hospitality was amazing. I took many, many notes on how to throw such an amazing party. Hopefully I can throw a bash like that someday for someone I love. There was one point during the shower that I looked at Jill's glowing face and realized that it's true that we sometimes have to taste of the bitter to know the sweet. I know that having an empty nest the past few years has brought some cloudy moments for Matt & Jill, but man have they pulled through beautifully. I gained an extra glimmer of hope as I realized that there really can be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow after the storm clears. I am just so happy for Matt and Jill and I can't believe that delivery day is just around the corner! Each time I become an Aunt I remember how blessed I am in so many ways.
