You Know the Umbilical Cord Is Still Attached When...

... Dad yells down the hallway to me (trying to be funny) "Jeni, your sippy cup is all filled up and ready to go!" I almost died laughing. Yes, the parents still make me breakfast sometimes. Dad gets up early and goes jogging then comes home and makes himself a protein shake and shares with me. So... I bought myself a pink Thermos cup for my "on the go" morning take offs, since I don't usually get up early enough to veg at the breakfast table. Sometimes I put oatmeal or cereal in it and take off. Sometimes I get a breakfast shake. And on those really great, rare mornings, I get homemade egg mom-muffins...still my favorite. I think our parting of ways, Mom and Dad, is going to be a bit rougher on me than I realize. I am so spoiled!
Another fun moment that Dad and I had this past week dealt with his morning stretches on his yoga ball. My Pilate's instructor says, "hold...hold...hold" in her cute Philippine accent, so it's become something that our family often says to each other randomly. One morning I walked down the hall and saw Dad on his Yoga ball with one arm stretched forward and the opposite leg stretching out. He was concentrating SO HARD on keeping them lifted tightly! I stopped and whispered "Hold...hold...hold" and he just lost it. We laughed and laughed. You are too cute Dad. I am so glad we love to laugh together so much!
