Allergies

I REALLY DO LOVE ANIMALS
I had an experience this week that I definitely need to online journal for future generations to read. Sometimes my allergies get me into sticky situations since I don't want to hurt other people's feelings regarding their loved ones in animal form. One time I went to Canada with a friend to meet her online boyfriend and I ended up having to sleep in the closet sized room where the two cats lived. I am severely allergic to cats, so within an hour everything on my face was swollen and running and I couldn't breath. I faked that I had been sick before I got to the host family's house so I wouldn't hurt their feelings. You'll have to ask for the whole story sometime. It was quite the experience.
For my calling in my church I get to go visit multiple girls every week to welcome them and let them know that we care about them. It is probably my favorite duty that comes along with my current church responsibilities. I have become friends with so many people that I never would have been friends with before. I get to see all sorts of people in their element and I have been overwhelmed with the welcoming kindness of so many girls. I have been very fortunate to not have any animal allergy run-ins, until this week. Wednesday Karli and I went to an apartment that had not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but 8 animals inside a small apartment. For me, this is like putting me inside a shed and filling it with toxic gases. I wish there would have been a camera on my face when i walked in and saw the first cat. My face was like "dang, they have a cat! Two cats! Three, Four, Five... ah!!!! I better get out NOW. Run, run, get out while I can still breath!" I was on the phone so it appeared I exited to chat on the phone. I remained outside, in the freezing cold, for almost an hour while Kar finished up the visit. They are the sweetest girls and I wouldn't want them to feel bad, so I just knew I couldn't go back inside! It was like a death sentence for me. I love animals and I am really sad that we can't mix, but that's just how it is.
